Specs:
We all know that the 060 processor is incredibly fast (see the benchmark for a really good idea) Of course there isn't a 68000 benchmark shown there, because it wouldn't even show up. The difference in speed between a stock 2000 and a WildFire 2000 is just amazing, from about 0.8 MIPS to 80 MIPS. And that doesn't mean a 10x speed increase, it means about a 100x speed increase. That's not even what's so great about the WildFire.
Now you can add up to 128MB to your system, the Wildfire has 4 72-PIN industry standard SIMM sockets on it for easy addition of memory. It used to be rather hard to add memory easily and affordably to your 2000, not anymore.
Also, the Amiga 2000 has the Old ChipSet, so you probably want some more graphic capabilities. The WildFire has a PCI expansion bus on the back for easy installation of dkb's graphic card (scheduled for release soon). Which means you can add a very fast graphic card capable of high resolution 24-bit (16 million) color screens. We never got to try this out though because it's still in beta-testing, but dkb assures us it will be worth the wait.
The WildFire also has some other goodies thrown in, such as a SCSI-II controller capable of 10 megs a second, and a high speed ethernet card (w/ state of the art RJ-45 and Thinbase 10) for network and internet connections. It's not only an incredible accelerator, it's a complete workstation solution on one card!
